About Us
We were established in 1989 as a commercial property practice in St Saviours Place in
York city centre.
The business has grown since then and in 2002 we relocated to larger premises in Castlegate and merged with Austin Barks shortly after. Our expansion has resulted in us carrying out a wider range of commercial property work and also creating a residential department.
Barry Crux FRICS ACIArb
Barry is a Chartered Surveyor and has worked in property for over 30 years in both the public and private sectors.
His specialist area is licensed premises, hotels, restaurants and leisure property, which involves carrying out Capital and Rental Valuations, lease renewals, the sale and purchase of such property, and providing expert evidence including acting as an Arbitrator or Independent Expert.
Barry is a past President of the former RICS General Practice Division and also of the York & District Association of Auctioneers, Valuers and Estate Agents. He is an active member of the York Professional Initiative and York Business Forum.

Rosie Crux BSc (Hons) MRICS
Rosie completed a degree in Urban Land Economics at Sheffield Hallam University in 2000, during which time she spent a year working for Matthews & Goodman in the City of London.
She then joined international property consultants King Sturge and worked in the valuation department of their Leeds office for over three years, before joining Barry Crux & Company in December 2003. Her main area of work is in the retail and office sectors, carrying out rent reviews, lease renewals, valuations, sales and lettings for a wide variety of clients. She also deals with business sales, rating appeals and management.
Rosie is an active member of York Business Forum, York Women in Business and Business Network Women.
